Join us for an immersive and hands-on wheel-throwing course in West Footscray, Melbourne! Over five weeks, you'll learn the art of wheel throwing and create your own food-safe ceramic items using the potter's wheel. No experience necessary!

In this course, we'll cover everything you need to know to get started with wheel throwing. Safety, wedging and clay preparation, centring, throwing, trimming, attaching components, and glazing will all be explored. Our experienced teacher will be there every step of the way to provide one-on-one guidance and answer any questions you may have.

Classes will run for three hours each week, providing ample time to learn new skills, practice, and tidy up at the end. You'll have the opportunity to work with a beautiful selection of studio made glazes and underglazes, which will bring your creations to life.

At the end of the course, your pieces will be fired using our in-house kiln, not once but twice, to ensure the quality and durability of your ceramic items. We'll let you know when your ceramics are ready to be collected so you can show your beautiful creations to friends and family and proudly display them in your home.

We understand that starting something new can be a little intimidating, but there's no need to worry. Our friendly and supportive environment will put you at ease, and our teacher will provide guidance that caters to all skill levels. Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing are recommended, as you may get a little messy working with clay (although clay washes out, it's always best to be cautious). Please remember to bring a towel to make cleanup a breeze.

Long nails are not conducive to pottery, so please ensure they are trimmed short for the session. We want you to have the best experience possible!

While we take great care in firing your pieces, we cannot guarantee their survival through the unpredictable ceramics process. Please note that the Studio cannot be liable for losses during the kiln firing.
