BOTANICAL DYEING WITH PLANTS AND INDIGO WORKSHOP
Do you work with natural fibre yarn or cloth in your craft work? Would you like to add colour to your work in a more natural way?
Join us in this full day workshop where we will learn how dye fabrics and fibres using a variety of local and everyday seasonal plants, weeds and food scraps.
You will learn how to prepare and mordant your fibres, the various ways of extracting colour from plants, modifying, works place setup safety and more. We will then experiment with over dyeing with Indigo to create even more colours!
You will go home with approximately 300 colour swatches of yarn and fabrics for your own records and the knowledge and an information sheet with details on how you can set up and continue experimenting at home.
- Something to carry your damp samples home in
- An apron or old clothes you don't mind getting stained
