Friday Favourites - DIY Advent Calendars

It's almost December! (Really? Already? Gah!) Which of course means the countdown to Christmas and what better way to do it than with one of these fantastic handmade advent calendars!

This cute felt tree is a great way to count down the days and best of all there is no chocolate involved! The little decorations are hidden inside the pockets and are hung on the tree each day until it is full. This one was made by Homemade by Jill, check out these patterns on Etsy.

Our lovely friend Leslie from Maze & Vale has this fantastic advent panel available in four colours. All you do is cut out the numbers and sew them onto your calendar. A Little Red Ribbon added them to some little pockets she made from linen and pegged them to a length of string.

Or what about this crocheted pocket bunting? You could embroider the numbers onto the pockets. Greedy for Crochet has a great pattern.

Trillium Designs has a pattern for a mini stocking advent quilt. A great way to use up small scraps of fabric!
