Last week our Friday Favourites was dedicated to gifts for yarn lovers. This week we have great gifts for people who love to sew. I know I wouldn't mind some of these useful tools, especially the pattern weights!
Good fabric scissors are an important part of a sewer's tool kit. They may be a little on the pricey side but a good quality pair of scissors are worth the investment. Stitch56 have these Merchant & Mills 10" shears also available in 8" and 8" left-handed.
I have a few pincushions around the studio but I still seem to gather a pile of pins next to my sewing machine as I remove them from my fabric. This cheap and easy DIY magnetic plate would be a great way to stop those wayward pins from rolling to the floor. Gift it with some good quality pins such as these and wrap it in some pretty cellophane and ribbon.
Do you know someone who uses the contents of their pantry to weigh down their patterns? I'm guilty of that too! These great DIY pattern weights would be a great gift using just a few large washers and nuts and some pretty ribbon. A cheap and easy gift that will be greatly appreciated by any sewer.
