I have been wanting to make a dress for my girl with embroidery on it. Instead of going a more traditional route I decided to make it a bit more hipster. HA! Tribal prints are in and I like it.

The dress pattern is from the book Girls Style Book. The book was easy to use and the patterns are super cute. If you purchase this book I must warn you, you will need paper to trace the pattern pieces onto. I used Medical Pattern Paper

For the embroidery I used gold and silver metallic thread. It goes nicely with the glittery jean fabric. The entire piece is done with a back stitch. Metallic thread is very stiff so after I was done embroidering I added lining to the front of the bodice.

The button loop on the back is made with the gold metallic embroidery thread and a thrifted button.

I think this pattern would look great on a clutch, don't you?
